Raquel Simpson was born in Naperville, Illinois, and moved to the South Side of Chicago at a young age. Her father's passion for golf inspired her to pick up the sport at nine years old, and her natural talent soon became evident. Raquel attended Walter Payton College Prep, a prestigious high school where she not only excelled academically but also won numerous golf championships. Her skills on the golf course earned her a scholarship to Howard University, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Journalism. Raquel discovered a new passion for media and content creation during her time at Howard, transforming the Howard University Bison golf team's social media presence and gaining recognition from NBA star Steph Curry. Her internships, including a role as a social media manager for Callaway Golf, furthered her expertise in the field. Currently, Raquel serves as the Social Media and Content Manager at National Links Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to making municipal golf accessible and affordable. Through her journey from a young golfer to a media professional, Raquel has continuously demonstrated her dedication and ability to thrive in multiple disciplines.
