Jordanella Maluka was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, within a vibrant Tanzanian and Congolese household. Her multicultural upbringing in one of Stockholm's diverse neighborhoods, amidst friends from all corners of the globe, significantly shaped her worldview and aspirations. She attended United World College in Norway, an experience that was both challenging and immensely enriching. This period not only honed her leadership skills as she actively engaged in student government but also exposed her to a myriad of cultures and global issues. After high school, Jordanella continued her academic journey in the United States at Macalester College. Despite having never visited the U.S. or Minnesota, her commitment to education and global impact led her to embrace the opportunities presented by this new environment. At Macalester, she pursued a major in Economics, with minors in Data Science and a concentration in Community and Global Health, reflecting her diverse interests and drive to understand global systems and structures. Her internships at renowned institutions like Goldman Sachs and D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments deepened her expertise in finance and solidified her interest in renewable energy.
Today, Jordanella works as a Renewable Energy Tax Credit Analyst at RBC Capital Markets in New York City. Her role involves the intricate financial modeling and policy analysis essential for driving investments in renewable energy projects. Jordanella's journey is characterized by resilience, a proactive pursuit of knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to sustainability and social impact.
